John and his wife are wonderful people. Not to mention he cooks the best meat you’ll ever eat and makes the best sauce you’ll ever taste!
They have outstanding food and awesome sauces for their meats. I personally love their pork chop platters. I love the homemade cornbread. I’ve also had a cheese steak sandwich from here and it was to die for. I live a short distance up the road within walking distance and try to eat here whenever I can. I just wish they were open more often. And what’s even better is the owners are my neighbors. The best part is they cook their meats over an open pit wood fired fire.
The bbq sauce isn’t sweet or rich, let me just say that upfront. It’s tangy and spicy. Get you a half chicken, a half rack of ribs, some cheese fries with some 50/50 sauce for dipping and you’ll be blissed out before you know it.
The history behind the sauce is enough to make me want to go back. The strong cultural influence decades ago contributes to how they currently make their sauce … with a heavy tomato flavor, this tradition continues in the Mon-Valley today.

This is My favorite BBQ of all time !! Mon Valley sauce ain’t for everyone , it is not sweet like everyone else is. I live in Ohio and try to make it back home at least every 2 months just to get some ! Someone said ‘tomato paste’ sauce and another said ‘Marinara sauce’ , I call BS! Mon Valley sauce is a unique and complex blend of flavors , that ain’t available anywhere else . Everything that I ever ate here was great , especially the Pork Steaks . Yum , I’m feeling like another road trip !
This place is awesome. Great environment and very friendly people that treat you like family. Took my pregnant wife there cause she wanted real BBQ. She was blown away. If you want great BBQ and friendly service I would highly recommend to come here. If I want BBQ only place I go now is the RIB CAGE.

All time favorite BBQ. The sauce is so different and amazing. Sweet and tangy is to die for! My husband and I love coming here, and have tried just about everything, and it makes it so hard to choose what to get. Whether it’s eating in, or take out we’ve always had a great experience. Our toddler son even loves it too. Cannot pass up the delicious cole slaw with dinner, and the fresh cut cheese fries. Now, every time my parents come for dinner we know what we’re getting. Cannot wait for the next time we order!
Had a delicious sampler with a chop and hot sausage, fries and slaw. Everything was superb. Your sweet and spicy sauce is delicious. Lick the Styrofoam from all sides. New customer, a definite again.

Really good food. They cook their food over an indoor wood fed fire pit. You get food that tastes like it came off of a campfire… I’ve had hot dogs and lots of other things done over the fire. I live less than half a mile away and the smells of the food cooking are awesome. They make their own sauces which are out of this world. The wait time can be a little long. But it’s worth it.
John and Barb deserve 5 stars for service alone. Food is outstanding. Usually go for the woodfired BBQ but went for the fish today. Wow. Everything was oustanding from the huge fish sandwich ( great breading), cheese fresh cut fries, slaw, macaroni and cheese, and hilushki. When I brought home the food today my wife simply said, “they sure know how to cook!” Oh yeah don’t forget to try the stuffed banana peppers when John has them. I could go on but just go try it yourself. You wont be disappointed.
I eat here almost every Friday. I get a half slab of ribs with extra hot sauce. Delicious! Ribs are cooked over an open fire with the perfect smokey flavor. Every time I drive by this place I have to roll my windows down just to catch that smokey meaty flavored aroma wafting up on the road. If you are looking for a great rib dinner and the you do not smell a great wood fire flavored by sizzling meats in the parking lot get back in your car and drive to the Rib Cage!

Friends of mine live just up the road from the Rib Cage BBQ A couple years ago I meet John while out that way for hunting season .The first food I had was there River Dogs .What a Lip smacking Hot dog that was . As time goes I’ve come to like John and his wife Very Personable people . Not the mention There Ribs Are Awesome ! And I have had ribs from all over these States . Next will be they Chops I’ve been told they are Yummy .I’ll let you all know soon ! I live 2 hours from The Rib Cage and have no trouble driven out there for there Ribs or Chops

This little hidden gem has falling off the bone ribs in a really good sauce. The prices are reasonable and the service good.
They have the best fish sandwiches around! The Halushki is also great. I will never eat any other fish! Perfect place to come during Lent!

OMG….stopped there for takeout. OUR pulled pork sandwichs were just AWESOME!!! In this time of having to stay in….best dinner! Give them your business you won’t be sorry!!!
